OTL by OldTimer is a flexible, multipurpose, diagnostic, and malware removal tool. It's useful for identifying changes made to a system by spyware, malware and other unwanted programs. It creates detailed reports of registry and file settings, and also includes advanced tools and scripting ability for manual removing malware.

OTL does not make any determination whether an entry is good or bad. For help diagnosing the logs generated, view the tutorial, or ask for free assistance.

Support Forums:
English:French:Portuguese:System Requirements: OTL is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, XP, and 2000. 32 or 64-bit.

What is the MD5 hash code of this file?

I first downloaded OTL.exe today from the gtg website but the file was corrupt. Next I downloaded it from the mirror site and found that that copy had a different hash code. No surprise, but the relative file sizes were suspicious. Goggled it and found many warnings about hijacked OTL.exe.
I'm not willing to run OTL.exe until I know I have an accurate copy. Please post the version number, internal file size, and MD5 code for ALL posted software.

Stats of the OTL.exe files I downloaded:
From gtg site: Size = 574,526 bytes MD5 = EC9E6980D542EE3927188E02BBC1C19F
From mirror: Size = 574,460 bytes MD5 = DBFDA61AB07AAE3C4B102889B83CC84C

Bulletin 15:38 ET:
I just tried to download OTL,exe again from the gtg site so as to confirm the problem, and received the following warning from my Sonicwall TZ100 router/firewall:

Gateway Anti-Virus Alert
The request is blocked by the anti-virus service. Name: Emold.U(Worm)

Will someone please look into this apparent threat immediately.

Thanks, Garry

File size is already displayed. I'll look into displaying more file information, including MD5.

Regarding the integrity of the file, I can assure that you won't find a more accurate copy than you do here. OldTimer (the developer) uploads the updates to our server himself. There is no third-party involved. In other words, the file you find here, was last touched by the developer.

Here's what I think happened. OTL is updated often. You may have downloaded a copy from here as the file was being updated. It would explain the corruption, and file size differing from the mirror.

Finally, regarding the anti-virus alert. That is not uncommon with the antimalware tools we host. It's known as a false positive, and is often triggered by heuristics. For example I just ran the latest OTL through virustotal.com, and received 3/43 alerts. All 3 were heuristics related, and false postives. One related to how it was packed, and especially worthless. While we report these false positives, often the tool is updated as soon as they are corrected.

When downloading any program, it's good to check for updates before using.

Same problem here. Multiple bad image errors, every time i open ANY program.

Ran OTL....and dont really want to start yet ANOTHER thread??

Also had two reports generated, a OTL.txt file and a Extras.txt file
Lots of these types of errors in the extras report...

Error - 27/02/2012 04:51:36 | Computer Name = JULIAN | Source = NetBT | ID = 4321
Description = The name "KM1D22DE :0" could not be registered on the Interface
with IP address 192.168.1.65. The machine with the IP address 192.168.1.64 did not
allow the name to be claimed by this machine.

I have absolutely no idea what to do.

I'm running, or trying to run OTL on a SSD and keep getting an error when the log should show, the error is

"List Index Out Of Bounds 19"

Any help as to what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks
